February is better known by NBA fans as the month we get to see all the best players in the league on the same team via All-Star weekend. Yes, its fun to watch Dwight Howard dress up as superman and put on a show at the slam dunk contest or watch the league's best sharp shooters slug it out in the three point conest but something more serious and much more important also happens in February. The NBA reaches its trade deadline.

The closing weeks approaching the trade deadline is the NBA's equivalence to the post Thanksgiving "Black Friday" sales. Its when team owners start making calls to other teams trying to unload players they don't need or want and try to acquire a last minute piece that will get them over the hump and in to the playoffs.

As for the Heat, there has been some talk lately about certain doors that may be open.

Brad Miller and John Salmons:

This scenario has been the buzz lately. The Kings have showed interest in Shawn Marion and with the emergence of Spencer Hawes, they would be willing to part with Brad Miller and John Salmons. Brad Miller who is due just over $11 million this year and $12 million next year would be a nice fit for the Heat considering they lack any real size in the middle and Miller's contract goes well with the 2010 cap space clear out. The Heat, with a decent big man in the paint and the steady development of Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasley, can quickly become eastern conference contenders.

Carlos Boozer:

Talk about Carlos Boozer coming to South Beach goes back as far as the off-season. Carlos, who's has already showed interest in opting out of his contract in search for greener pastures, has always had an interest in playing for Miami. The Alaska native owns a home here in south Florida and is already good friends with some of the Heat players including Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem. Though there has been no real talk yet about the trade but Utah may want to get at least something in return in case Carlos does decide to leave after this season. Though Carlos is under sized, he is an elite rebounder and big time scorer in the post, something the Heat desperately need.

 Anthony Parker and Andrea Bargnani:

Toronto has been less than discrete about having the former first round pick Andrea Bargnani and shooting guard Anthony Parker on the block. Bargnani who hasn't panned out as well as they had hoped has been inconsistent through out most of the season. The Heat can benefit from this move particularly because Bargnani is a legit seven footer with real shooting range, he is a good blocker and really gives the Heat a versatile front court along with Beasley and Marion. Anthony Parker is a good defender and a decent shooter, which is the type of player that flourishes around all star Dwyane Wade.

 Honorable Mentions:

Al Jefferson - Mentioned on NBA TV but no real source has confirmed it.

Marcus Camby/Chris Kaman - Camby who was acquired this off season by the Clippers has seemed to not mesh well with center Chris Kaman, leaving the Clipps to possibly move one.

Samuel Dalembert - Samuel is in a similar situation as Camby and Kaman in which he is not meshing well with Elton Brand leaving the door open for possible discussion.
