Thoughts on Miami's over time win over the Nets : - Dwyane Wade's scoring slump, that started in the fourth quarter of the Heat's last game against Orlando. rolled in to the beginning of this game with Dwyane going 1-4 from the field and scoring just two points. - Shawn Marion did not participate in this game due to back spasms. - The red hot second year man Daequan Cook took his place and did nicely with 15 points and some timely three point shooting. - The biggest surprise in this game was Yakhouba Diawara. He lead the Heat through out most of the game in scoring and finished second with 19 points behind Wade's 29. - Diawara is a capable stopper and a decent shooter but nothing could have prepared the Nets for that onslaught of three's from the French native. - Almost as if he had read my comments in my previous article, Michael Beasley played fairly well. Along with taking good shots and making good decisions he rotated correctly, he was active in the passing lanes and contested nearly every shot that came his way. - Now that Michael has picked it up defensively, that leaves Spoelstra with no more excuses to not play him. - Chris Quinn became the primary reserve at point guard replacing Marcus Banks in the rotation. And the only thing that comes to mind is, "its about time!" - Though Marcus plays well defensively, the Heat need some one who can run the offense and score off the bench. The offense just runs smoother and more efficiently with Quinn behind the wheel. - Dwyane Wade started slow but then picked up speed and finished the game strong. He had 29 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four blocks and three steals to lead the Heat to victory. - In a night where Wade struggled early, the bench rallied together and held down the fort until "Flash" returned to his true self.
