As the seasons change in metro Detroit, it’s important to honor one’s changes in body rhythms. With less daylight in general, there is less exposure to the natural sunlight that balances our pineal glands, which produce the hormone melatonin. Melatonin then triggers the creation of serotonin in the body. Serotonin is a feel good chemical that helps us to feel calm, sleep better, and reduce our cravings for carbohydrates.
Calling upon the angels is something one can do to sleep more restfully. Here are some ideas:
Ask the angels for protection for oneself, one’s loved ones, possessions, home, and property prior to falling asleep. Imagine one’s guardian angels surrounding one and one’s house, inside and outside.
Call upon Archangel Michael, the bouncer and protector of the spiritual realms. If one ever feels unsafe in anyway, whether during waking hours or prior to going to sleep, call upon this loving, powerful angel.
Ask the angels to bathe one in green, healing light. Archangel Raphael is the healer angel. He can bathe one in green light anytime, but prior to bedtime, this light can help one to feel calm, peaceful, and wake up feeling refreshed.
Use crystals on one’s nightstand. Amethyst is a great crystal to help one to sleep well. Rose quartz placed in each corner of the bedroom, along with a black obsidian or hematite placed in the center, underneath the bed creates a lovely, protective feeling as a crystal grid.
Use aromatherapy. Ask the angels for guidance in selecting the proper scents for one. Lavender is known to be a relaxing scent for sleep and relaxation.
Consider a salt bath. Prior to bed, the warm water can be relaxing while the salt clears one’s energy. Ask the angels to infuse the bath water with loving, healing energies.
