Light blue is a popular color in interior furnishings right now, especially paired with chocolate brown. Since light blue is so popular, many people would like to paint their walls that color but don't want their room to look like a baby boy's nursery. See the steps below for selecting the correct light blue paint color for an adult room.

1) Go to the paint store or hardware store to get paint samples. If you want to match something, bring that something with you.
2) Do NOT look at blue paint colors. Look at grey paint colors instead. Don't worry, your room will not end up looking like a sterile prison cell if you get the right grey paint. The light blue color that is popular right now is more of a silver than a blue. Silver is a shiny grey, that is why you should look at grey paint colors instead of blue. Look for a grey paint with just a hint of blue. Keep in mind that the lighting in a paint store is a different color than the lighting in your home, so the colors might look a little different once you get home. Paint stores have paper paint samples for free, so take as many as you want home to try out.
3) Once you are home, attach all of the paint samples to your wall and stand back about 5'. One by one, remove the paint samples you do not like until you are left with one. If you are still hesitant, purchase a small tester or quart size of paint to try on your walls before painting the entire room.
Here are some colors that you may want to try:
Sherwin Williams SW 7071 Gray Screen, and SW 7072 Online, SW 6246 North Star, SW 6247 Krypton
