Ceilings are usually the most ignored wall in people's homes.  They are often plain white and stay plain white forever.  Stop pretending that your ceiling does not exist.  Here are some ideas for decorating a ceiling.

1)  Paint your ceiling.  You could paint it a khaki color, paint it slightly darker than your wall color, or paint it slightly lighter than your wall color.  You could even paint your ceiling a bold color, such as chocolate brown, in a special room - such as a master bedroom, powder bath, or dining room.
2)  Add decorative moldings to your ceiling.  You can add crown molding or specialty decorative moldings to bring attention to your ceiling.
3)   Decorative light fixtures enhance ceilings.  You can add an elegant chandelier, a decorative ceiling fan, or an interesting track light.  You can even add a ceiling medallion around the light fixture for added drama.
4)  Decorate your ceiling with a specialty finish for added drama.  This might include a mural, pressed tin, bead board, wallpaper, gold leaf, wall decals, or wood.  You could even add faux wood beams or a fancy LED light display.

Whatever you decide to do to your ceilings, don't pretend that they don't exist.  Be creative and perhaps start a decorative trend with your ceiling.
