One celeb pairing appears to be starting a family despite breakup rumors.
The most recent couple to emerge from the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise, Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski announced that they are looking to go dog shopping.
"Ed and I plan on adopting a rescue as soon as we settle into a place," Harris told PEOPLE Pets. She plans to move to Chicago to be closer to her fiance in September.
Harris grew up with a dog named Sweets, who she says was her BFF. "We did everything together," said Harris, who was an only child. After Sweets passed away, Harris's family rescued a 3-year-old dog named Risky. Now, Harris and Swiderski are considering rescuing a dog from Pets With Disabilities.
In related news, Bachelor star Melissa Rycroft, who received the final rose from Jason Mesnick only to be turned down in a televised appearance, is making wedding plans to her fiance Tye Strickland. The ceremony may involve her canine companion.
Riley, her 6-year-old chihuahua, is in the running to be Rycroft's honorary maid of honor or ringbearer, the former Dallas Cowboy's cheerleader says. “She’s a big part of my life and she’s a big part of Tye’s life, so it seems natural that she would be at our wedding."
"Or, she might walk down the aisle alongside my mom. They’re very close.” Rycroft's mom took care of the pup during Melissa's reality TV appearances on The Bachelor in 2008 and then Dancing With the Stars.
Rycroft hasn't revealed the exact wedding date, but she did hint that kids are not in her immediate future. “Riley is the closest thing my mom is going to get to having a grandchild for a long time," she joked.
