Boulder’s hometown homies the 3OH!3 made their MTV2 video debut Monday, October 20th, with the unleashing of “Don’t Trust Me,” the first single off of their Photo Finish Records release, Want.
A film-still (image above) from "Don’t Trust Me" showing Nathaniel Motte and Sean Foreman donning loincloths, face paint, and plenty of sarcasm has been floating around the Internet for a few weeks (and appeared in the October 3rd issue of Entertainment Weekly), so I was anxious to see the full video.
A mirror image of their live shows, the video sees Sean and Nat putting themselves into compromising positions using their clothes/faces/bodies as props, lots of hand gestures (a 3OH!3 trademark) and of course, heaps of charm. Like their two previous videos by director Isaac Ravishankara, the clip feels every bit 3OH!3, except cameos from friends have now been replaced by hired female guns in lingerie.
Selling out shows coast to coast, the 3OH!3 will be coming through Denver for a Halloween show and another one the following evening, but both, of course, have sold out. They will continue across the US on their first headlining tour, supported by another Boulder-brewed act, The Chain Gang of 1974.
