The line-up for this year's Monolith Festival in September was a variety show of massive indie proportions: from 90s re-births like Superdrag to electro-heroes Justice, the two-day, 60-plus band super show promised to push Colorado just that much closer to the national spotlight we've long-deserved*.
By all accounts, Monolith was a hit. Mania TV was there to catch some great downtime with two of my most favorite bands right now, Tilly and the Wall and The Kills. Below is an interview with Tilly and The Wall, explaining the birth of their tap-dancing rhythm section, and a breakdown of the Warhol-esque lenses used to film The Kills "URA Fever."

"Sexy" is an over-used description of The Kills, but when Floridan Alison "VV" Mosshart and Brit Jamie "Hotel" Hince get together, it's like friction in your jeans. Their minimalist approach to rock n' roll is confident, punchy, and warm in the right places. I think I had to have a cigarette after I heard "Gypsy Death and You" for the first time. Yes, it was that good.
