      John Lassiter

John Lassiter is currently an At-Large Representative on the Charlotte City Council.  

According to his biography on the City of Charlotte web site: 
 
John was first elected in 2003 and is now serving his third term on the Council. He chairs Council’s Economic Development/ Planning Committee and is a member of the Housing & Neighborhood Development, Governmental Affairs and Planning Liaison committees. He is Council Representative to Charlotte Center City Partners (CCCP), and the Performing Arts Center. 
 
John Lassiter served on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Board of Education from 1992 - 2003 and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission from 1987 - 1992. He is president-elect of the Mecklenburg County Bar and past president of the Children's Law Center.
 
John received his master's degree in Public Administration from North Carolina State University and his bachelor's and law degrees from Wake Forest University.
 
John is a member of the Board of Director of the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, Junior Achievement and Leadership Charlotte.  He is a graduate of Leadership Charlotte Class IX and recipient of its 2001 Circle of Excellence award. He is a fellow in the Institute of Political Leadership. 
John is president and CEO of Carolina Legal Staffing. He and his wife Beverly have two sons.
 
John Lassiter’s Campaign web page state that he believes in:

more business friendly.

Getting repeat criminals off of our streets
Supporting law enforcement and our Courts with more officers, more tools, and more coordination.

Lowering taxes and providing high-quality services
Protecting our tax dollars, work within a budget by managing the city like a    business, and ensure our priority services are fully funded, including finishing our road and transit projects and meeting our housing needs.
