Deal of the Day: South Africa goes on sale

South African Airways Vacations reports that its nine-day, air-inclusive “South Africa on Sale” package will be offered at a starting price of $1,999 for travel Jan. 7-May 15, 2010. (Price is per person, based on double occupancy and excludes taxes and fuel surcharges.)
The package includes international and domestic airfare on South African Airways, Africa’s from either New York or Washington, D.C. As an added bonus, free add-on flights will be offered from 26 selected cities in the U.S.
Once in South Africa, “South Africa on Sale” features four nights at the Commodore Hotel overlooking the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, which travelers will use as their base of operations from which to explore the city.
A full-day Cape Peninsula tour, dinner at the Portswood Hotel’s Quarterdeck Restaurant and a half-day Winelands tour are all included during the stay. After actively exploring Cape Town, travelers will spend two nights at the Bakubung Bush Lodge in the Pilanesberg National Park near Sun City, where they will go on safari to view the Big 5. Golfing and gambling are additional options available to travelers while at Bakubung.
