Beginning tonight, Elton Brand won't have to guard Jason Smith.

Beginning tonight, Jrue Holiday won't have to guard Lou Williams.

Beginning tonight, the preseason is officially underway with the Sixers playing the Raptors in London, Ontario.

The two teams will also face each other tomorrow in Toronto.

While the games don't count just yet, it will be a good start for the Sixers. They'll be able to put coach Eddie Jordan's Princeton offense to work in a game.

Rodney Carney and Stromile Swift are injured and won't play tonight.

As the preseason plays out, the Sixers will be able to tweak their rotation and get ready for the regular season opener.

Between now and then, there will be plenty of time to get ready -- against other teams.
