It was not a good start for the Philadelphia 76ers.

In their season-opening game at Orlando, the Sixers got crushed. It was that simple.

After a relatively close first quarter, the Magic pulled away and throttled the Sixers, 120-106.

Six Magic players scored in double figures led by Dwight Howard's 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Marreese Speights was a bright spot for the Sixers with a career-high 26 points. But other than Speights, the Sixers struggled.

First-year coach Eddie Jordan's Princeton offense didn't look good. Neither did the Sixers defense. It was just a poor all-around effort.

Orlando hit 16-of-29 of its 3-pointers. That's 16-of-29 ... not good defense.

The Sixers have to regroup quickly for the home opener Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

This Sixers team has little margin for error. They need to be effective on offense and tenacious on defense. Game No. 1 didn't display those characteristics.

Let's see what happens in Game No. 2 against the Bucks.
