Andre Iguodala tried the shooting guard position at times last season for the Philadelphia 76ers.
It wasn't a huge success, especially when he had to work out of the double-team. But with first-year head coach Eddie Jordan's Princeton offense, Iguodala will likely spend some time at shooting guard again in 2009-10.
Will it work?
We'll find out soon. A backcourt of Lou Williams and Iguodala could be effective with both players being able to score.
If it does succeed, it will be a big-time benefit for the Sixers.
Iguodala averaged 18.8 points per game last season, his fifth with the Sixers. To be fair, he played most of the season without Elton Brand.
With Brand back healthy, Iguodala should flourish even more this season.
He spent countless hours on his shooting this summer. If his passing and ballhandling keeps improving, it will only enhance his value to the team.
The regular season starts in less than a month.
