The Philadelphia 76ers traveled to Monterrey, Mexico and came away victorious with a 116-94 win over the Phoenix Suns.

The Sixers have played six preseason games and have won five. Not bad.

Do the games count? No.

Is it important for the team's confidence as the regular season approaches? Absolutely.

Six different Sixers scored in double figures led by Andre Iguodala's 23. Thaddeus Young scored 17 points while second-year forward Marreese Speights contrubuted 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Truthfully, statistics mean nothing in the preseason. This is for the hardcore Sixers fans.

The Sixers have played well for first-year coach Eddie Jordan. If they can grasp the complicated Princeton offense, they could very well surprise some teams this season.

With the regular season approaching, it's vital for the Sixers to keep getting better. Every day. Every practice. Every preseason game.

All of those things are indeed meaningful.
