No Elton Brand, no problem.

The Sixers won their third consecutive game and their first full game without one of their starting forwards. Brand will miss the next month with a dislocated shoulder.

Now, don't get overly excited because this particular win was over the struggling Washington Wizards. But the 109-103 victory was still a road win and it still counts in the standings.

For the record, interim coach Tony DiLeo is 3-0 since replacing the fired Maurice Cheeks. Two wins over the Wizards and one win over the Milwaukee Bucks isn't exactly the same as beating the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. Over an 82-game season, you take any win you can get.

Lou Williams set a career-high with 26 points in this latest victory. Thaddeus Young and Andre Iguodala had 18 points each and rookie center Marreesse Speights was terrific with a career-best 17 points.

Without Brand, the Sixers seem to be having an easier time getting fastbreak points.

Williams has especially thrived under DiLeo as the speedy guard has averaged 22 points in the last three games. Williams' play was a reminder of why the Sixers rewarded him with a five-year, $25 million contract extension during the summer.

The Sixers received 51 points from their bench. They also got some much-needed energy.

They'll need that energy with a home game awaiting on Saturday night against the Indiana Pacers and ex-coach Jim O'Brien.

These rejuvenated Sixers should be plenty excited to play against O'Brien -- especially Samuel Dalembert.

Keep an eye on Dalembert in this game. And keep an eye on the suddenly surging Sixers.
