The Walt Disney World monorails are not only an efficient means for traversing the Walt Disney World resort, they are one of the most popular attractions. The system, known as the “Highway in the Sky,” opened in 1971 and today has three lines. There are 12 monorail trains that operate over nearly 15 miles of track.

Sunday’s fatal wreck was the first in their 38-year history.

These videos were taken in May 2009.
