When a football team loses 41-7, a lot of things went wrong. Defeats like this come as the result of a long list of problems, a litany of mistakes that add up to ineptitude on both sides of the ball.

That's why it seemed like the Denver Broncos bye week came at the perfect time. On the heels of their embarrassing loss in front of a national TV audience against the New England Patriots, the team certainly figured to have a lot of things to fix. The biggest challenge seemed to be knowing where to start.

Conventional wisdom would be incorrect, however, at least according to the Broncos. They say it's the small stuff that's producing poor results on the field.

"It's a lot of little things, which all kind of snowball," said tight end Nate Jackson on Wednesday.

When pressed about such a lopsided result having to stem from major problems, he held his ground.

"Fans only see the TV angle," Jackson explained. "That narrow view doesn't show how one little thing makes or breaks a play."

The fact that it's not scheme, personnel or some other large problem that has caused Denver to lose three out of four games is why Jackson and his teammates didn't spend their bye week sweating their position in the AFC West.

"Who thinks our season is over?," the tight end snapped when told that some were writing off his team. "Those are the same people who were sending us to the Super Bowl when we were 3-0. We'll be fine."

They just need to correct the little things. Or so says Nate Jackson.
