The fifth-annual Prelude to the Dream that was originally scheduled for June 3 but had to be postponed due to rain will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET at the Tony Stewart-owned Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

Aside from host and two-time Prelude winner (2006 and 2008) Stewart, other NASCAR notables who are still on deck to participate in the event include AJ Almendinger, Aric Almirola, Marcos Ambrose, Dave Blaney, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, Ray Evernham, Red Farmer, Robby Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Matt Kenseth, Joey Logano, Casey Mears, Ryan Newman, David Reutimann, Ken Schrader, Brian Vickers, and Kenny Wallace.

Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, and Bill Elliott, who all planned to participate when the event was originally scheduled for June will now be unable to take part. Gordon will be absent due to a scheduling conflict. Edwards and Elliott will be unable to compete due to injuries -- Edwards a broken right foot and and Elliott fractured ribs.

Television coverage, as in previous years, will be pay-per-view through HBO. Anyone with digital cable or satellite service should be able to order the race. The cost is $24.95. Ordering information is available through www.hbo.com

Proceeds raised through ticket sales and the pay-per-view audience for this year's Prelude will be divided among four charities that assist veterans. Those charities include the Wounded Warrior Project, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Operation Homefront, and Fisher House.

“In light of what's going on in our world today with our troops engaged in combat in Afghanistan, Iraq and other places around the world, we felt it was time to do something for those who came back from serving their country with severe injuries, and for those families whose loved ones never made it back,” Stewart said.

The previous four Prelude to the Dream events have raised a total of nearly $2 million to help charities inclluding the Victory Junction Gang Camp. Stewart's goal for this year's event -- $1 million.
