Welcome to my new page! Day tripping is a fun and easy way to get the most out of your time and money. It's like a mini vacation for you, your family, friends and more. Often times I have found that it can be mentally rewarding, soul-stirring, camaraderie enhancing, and even philanthropic at times.
When crafting this article, the beginning seemed an appropriate place to start. So here are some of the steps I recommend you consider when planning or taking part on your next day trip.
Plan. Plan your trip as far ahead of time as possible. Times, dates, places, routes of travel, places you may want to eat. You get the idea. This will take a lot of the guesswork, and "What now?" syndrome out of the day trip(s) that you take. You can lose a lot of time doing that in the middle of a trip. Consider putting this info in (on something) that you use regularly. PDA's, cell phones, calendars, post-it notes, whatever works for you, and stick to it.
Communicate. Communicate your plans to someone who you are close with. Some of the trips may take you out of your comfort zone, or you may find yourself traveling a larger radius from what you and others are used to. Letting people know where you will be alleviates fears and even worry when it comes to things going wrong, such as cars breaking down, getting lost, or medical issues. If you have a cell phone(s) in your party, take them (fully charged). If you are a family of day trippers consider purchasing FRS (Family Radio Service) radios to stay in touch in unique settings outside, or large venues inside.
Enjoy. Life and everyday are full of enough challenges for all of us. Try to turn it off, if even for a few hours. Smile, relax, and let me help suggest some places and things to do and see. With that being said, here are some basic tips that will make it easier for you.
