Season 8 kicks off January 2010

Replacing Bill Buchanan, R.I.P.

At this point, you have to wonder who in their right mind would want the job of heading up the newly re-opened Counter Terrorism Unit, right?  This is a job that typically doesn't allow a long life span.  But, apparently the powers that be have found their man.

St. Louis native Mykelti Williamson has been added to the rapidly growing cast for the next season of the FOX real time drama, 24.  Williamson, known for roles in Forrest Gump, Boomtown and CSI: NY, will be setting up a new New York address this January when he takes over a position recently filled by Bill Buchanan (played by actor James Morrison) whose character was offed during the past season.

Williamson will join several other recent cast additions, which included Freddie Prinze, Jr. among others.  You can read about the rest of the new cast additions by clicking here.

24 returns January 17, 2010 most likely with its usual two night 4 episode premiere.
