America is slowly turning against herself -- and turning against the biblical values that made her beautiful. "God" is literally encoded in the nation's monuments, emblems, and anthems -- and yet -- Americans are turning their backs to Him and denying His existence in U.S. history under the auspice of "political correctness." It's ironic, really, that a government established with "a firm reliance on the protection of divine providence" -- is working so diligently to throw God under a rug.
Thomas Jefferson's haunting words -- engraved on a panel of the Jefferson Memorial -- stand as a warning for this generation: "God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever . . . ."
Jefferson recognized that a nation without God -- is a nation without hope. A country that rejects God and His blessings . . . will eventually succumb to evil. Ronald Regan put it even more simply. "If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
