It was flattering to get the invitation. Somebody out there thinks I am rich and able to take responsibility for the debts of others.

Accordingly, we are requesting your financial support at a fundraiser on Monday, December 15 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at The Palm.
Ooops! It looks like somebody needs a bailout. Image business guys needing help in this day and age. What is this world coming to?
I would like to do my share to help out. The mayor and his friends did a fine job deciding what is best for the people by preventing us from weighing the issues and voting, but If I had a couple of thousand dollars burning a hole in my pocket, I would be selfish and take a little trip.
Paris would be nice. I could go there for lunch at La Tour D'Argent, the restaurant featured in the film "Ratatouille". The place is known for its Caneton Tour d'Argent (pressed duck) and it has a prix fixe (fixed price) lunch menu for $105.00. Considering air fare from Denver for $650.00 round trip and all the taxes, fuel surcharges, cab fares and nickel and diming, I would have enough left over from my $2,000 budget to enjoy some La Veuve Clicquot, a champagne featured in the film "Casablanca". Rick and Ilsa sipped La Veuve to keep it from falling into German hands, while Sam said it would "take the sting out of being occupied."
Will the mayor and his buddies be able to retire the campaign debt? If not, pardon my French when I say, "Vive la Responsibilite!"
