The tongue had to be bitten to keep from laughing last July while taking a tour of a huge hole in the ground where the Alameda Square Shopping Center once stood when an official from the Brighton Corporation said the new building would be completed in January.

Not laughing now. Thanks to the hard-working crew, the building that will house a Lowe's Home Improvement store is scheduled to be completed on January 9. Lowe's anticipates opening on February 28. Just in time to fix up the house for spring.
