            Denver turns 150

Check out today's top two headlines on Denvergov.org, the official website of Denver city government.

The top story today is a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the city. In honor of this milestone, Denver has kicked off Arts Week; a celebration at over 150 arts venues in 7 arts districts.

The next story is about a pilot program to install parking meters that take credit and debit cards. This will make parking more convenient in Denver.

Our city leaders have come up with another innovative way to separate taxpayers from their money. Is that the progress they want us to celebrate on our city's 150th birthday?

Arts Week seems to be a better way to celebrate our city.
