Israel captures a weapon cache bound for Syria
On November 4, 2009, Israeli authorities announced that they had captured its largest ever stash of weapons and ammunitions being shipped from Egypt to Syria and which Israel claims actually originated in Iran. This shipment of weapons would have allegedly allowed Hezbollah, a terrorist group supported by Iran based in Lebanon, the ability to last at least a month longer in a possible war with Israel. Of course, Iran and Syria deny the charges and claim that they were conducting lawful trade with each other. Interestingly enough, a day earlier Israel announced that Hamas, another terrorist group supported by Iran, now has the ability to launch rockets that can hit the highly populated area of Tel Aviv. If a rocket were to hit Tel Aviv it could destroy Israel's second largest city and more importantly, its financial capital.
Israel Official Says Hamas Rockets Can Reach Tel Aviv
Finally, in a seemingly unrelated event, the Washington Post reported on the same day that Secretary of State Clinton was enjoying mild success in her meeting with Egypt regarding the Mid-East peace plan. Oddly enough, even though it was reported that Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit agreed that it was time to get serious about the Mid-East Peace process between the Israelis and the Palestinians, he is quoted as saying "We feel that Israel is hindering the process..." Evidently, it is clear that Egypt places most, if not all, of the blame of this crisis on Israel. It is interesting to note that Egypt's view is strikingly similar to Saudi Arabia and the League of Arab Nation's view that was reported several months ago.
O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still. See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. "Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more." With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you-the tents of Edom [modern day Jordan] and the Ishmaelites [modern day Arabs] , of Moab [modern day Jordan] and the Hagrites [modern day Egyptians/North Africans], Gebal [modern day Lebanon], Ammon [modern day Jordan] and Amalek [modern day term that Jewish people use for their enemies], Philistia [modern day Palestinians], with the people of Tyre [modern day Lebanon]. Even Assyria [modern day countries of Iraq, Iran, Syria] has joined them to lend strength to the descendants of Lot. Selah. Do to them as you did to Midian, as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, who perished at Endor and became like refuse on the ground. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, who said, "Let us take possession of the pasturelands of God." Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind. As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek your name, O LORD. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace. Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD— that you alone are the Most High over all the earth."
According to scripture, Hezbollah (Lebanon), Hamas (Palestinians), and Egpyt are just three of the nations that will come against Israel to try to destroy it in the Last Days. It is becoming clearer each day that each of the nations named in Psalm 83 are ramping up their offensive attacks against Israel. Some prophecy scholars believe that the Psalm 83 War will pave the way for the fulfillment of Isaiah 17:1 (the destruction of Damascus) and the Ezekiel 38-39 Gog-Magog War. The time is quickly approaching, are you ready?
