The re-designed Joshgroban.com was launched yesterday. The site combined the originally free joshgroban.com site with the paid membership site, friendsofjoshgroban.com. The Friends of Josh Groban fan site celebrates it’s 6th anniversary this year. A special anniversary message video by Josh himself is featured on the site. The goal of combining the site was to achieve more fan involvement and organize things better. According to Josh, it was done “to make things less cluttered and easier for you to enter your private world among the masses!”

The site features a sleek new look. Some new features include a better organized discography with lyrics and audio samples, lists of appearances and details on each appearance, awards and a concert stories section. Users can add their concert stories in a separate section where as before it could potentially get lost in several threads on the message boards. A list of today’s top posters complete with avatar now appears in a more visible place. There is also a contest where 20 lucky winners will each receive an autographed Josh Groban calendar. There are still exclusive videos, photos and downloads as in the old site. The search appears to be the same and the journal features are still there.

The site is still a work in progress. It is a little sparse. The awards section is yet to be updated. As with most new software rollouts, there are some bugs. Users have reported some errors when clicking on certain options in the message board. Admin has assured that they are working on the glitches and they should be resolved soon.

Overall feedback from members seems positive. It may take some time to get adjusted to the new site and some of the kinks need to be worked out. Users do have the option of trying out the site for free before committing to paying the annual membership fee which ranges between $29.99 and $64.99. Josh assures, “Basically its still going to get a whole lot better but in the meantime, I hope you dig it…everyone worked super hard on it and I’m excited to see it grow with all of you until the album comes out
