The Sheep fire near Cajon Pass on the San Bernardino National Forest in southern California has burned 3,500 acres and required the evacuation of some residents near the communities of Wrightwood and Lytle Creek. It is burning between Lytle Creek Canyon and Highway 138.
A Type 2 Incident Management Team has been ordered and should be in place by noon on Sunday. The fire is under Unified Command with U.S. Forest Service, San Bernardino County Fire Department and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The weather on Sunday is going to be interesting with southwest winds predicted at 24 mph with gusts up to 40, but the relative humidity will be fairly high for southern California, at 38-41%.
On Saturday the DC-10 and the Martin Mars very large airtankers were used on the fire, but on Sunday morning low visibility and strong winds made the use of air tankers impossible.
