The Tennessee Titans are inviting fans of Steve McNair to LP Field to pay their respects to the murdered NFL quarterback. McNair was with the Titans for a decade—from 1995 to 2005.
Fans can leave personal messages in a book that will be presented to the McNair family. According to the Titans Web site, “The video boards will be showing highlights from McNair’s career and a large photo mural of his Titans career will be on display.” Fans will also be able to make donations to the Steve McNair Foundation at the ticket office.
LP field will open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 9. Admission and parking to the field is free.
McNair and Sahel Kazemi were found on Saturday in McNair’s condominium in Nashville. Both died from gunshot wounds and McNair’s death was ruled a homicide.
According to reports, the two had been dating for several months, and there is speculation Kazemi killed McNair and then turned the gun on herself in an apparent murder-suicide, but no official ruling has been made as of yet.
A public memorial in Nashville is scheduled for McNair on Friday. Kazemi’s funeral will take place in Jacksonville, Fl., also on Friday.
