Both Casey Anthony and Amanda Brumfield, the estranged daughter of actor Billy Bob Thornton, have been accused of killing children, and both are being housed in the Orange County Jail in Orlando, Fl.
Casey is charged with the first-degree murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, while Amanda is charged with the murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of a 1-year-old girl she was babysitting, named Olivia.
While Casey, 23, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, Amanda, 29, who appeared in court on Thursday, claims the baby she was caring for died accidentally.
At the time of the incident, Amanda claimed the baby fell out of a playpen and she discovered the little girl’s tongue was bleeding.
She told authorities she cleaned the girl’s tongue with a paper towel and began playing with the child, whom she described as playful and “happy.” Amanda then claimed she fed the baby bananas and fruit snacks.

According to Amanda, she laid the baby next to her on the couch and then fell asleep. She was awakened by the phone and decided to move the child to her playpen.
Amanda told police that when she lifted the baby, her body was limp. It was determined the child died from a subdural hematoma caused by the fall.
A spokesperson for the Ocoee Police Department said Amanda’s story does not add up. Amanda did not call authorities for help until two and a half hours after the child had originally fallen.
Amanda did not speak during her first court appearance, but the Orlando Sentinel reports she appeared to be crying at one point.
According to the Orange County Web site, Casey is being housed in F-DORML-22, while Amanda’s cell is located in F-DORML-12.
No court date has been reported for Amanda’s next court hearing, but Casey’s murder trial is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 12.
