Dani Pedlow

Dani Pedlow is a Los Angeles based psychic who believes her psychic predictions assisted Tracy police in solving the Sandra Cantu murder case.  She argues she should be given at least part of the reward money, which totals over $30,000.

The Tracy police claim they never used any information from psychics during their investigation in the case.

According to Pedlow, she predicted Sandra would be found in a “barranca,” the Spanish word for ravine and that the 8-year-old was killed in a church by someone who lived in the same mobile home park as the Cantu family.

Mercury News reports that a client who is a local resident of Tracy contacted Pedlow about the case.

“At the time, I hadn’t ever been to Tracy and wasn’t even quite sure where it was,” Pedlow said. I texted and emailed her [the client] from Las Vegas. I told her I see a barranca. I talked about a church. I told her I see the church straight across from the park, and I see water, sand and gravel. I had the sense of something being dragged.”

Sandra’s body was found inside a suitcase in a drained irrigation ditch.  Melissa Huckaby, a Sunday school teacher who lived in the same mobile home park as the Cantu family was arrested and charged with the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Sandra.

Pedlow delivered a letter to Tracy police explaining why she should be given part of the reward money.  She claims police told her they had not decided who would receive the reward money.

“It sounds like a subterfuge. They put the brakes on. No one would respond. I understand because I live in Los Angeles, but one sentence about not having made up their minds sounds to me like they are trying to distance themselves from me.”

Sgt. Tony Sheneman of the Tracy police said, “We never reviewed or utilized any information from a psychic during this investigation.”

The executive director of the Sund/Carrington Foundation, Scott Webb said, “Tracy police have identified an individual who was responsible for [Sandra’s] recovery. We had several large donations, but we’ve been receiving cards, letters, and financial support from all over the country. I think the community should know they’ve been very helpful in this situation.  Many other families are going through the same thing, and they don’t get the same amount of attention.”

The anonymous tipster who found the suitcase containing Sandra’s body is being given $20,000.
