Every day, wounded servicemen and women return from combat, many to long-term rehabilitation at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda Naval Hospital.  In February, 2005, the Yellow Ribbon Fund was created specifically to welcome them into our community and to provide services to the wounded and their families in times of need.   The YRF makes their lives easier in difficult and stressful circumstances by offering free car rentals, cab vouchers, hotel rooms, apartments, job mentoring and internship programs and free tickets to cultural and sporting events.

On Saturday, November 7th the Yellow Ribbon Fund will host the "Rockin for The Troops" Gala.   The evening will include a silent auction, raffle, food, drinks, music by the cover band Beats Workin' and dancing. The event emcee is Bob Schieffer.

There will be two raffle drawings: Sawgrass Golf Experience in Florida and 1 week vacation at Bald Head Island, N.C. Raffle Tickets are $100 each for each drawing. There will also be silent auction items including 2010 Super Bowl Package (2 tickets to the game, air transportation and hotel), a painting by renowned local artist Pat Liebowitz, one Studio (sleeps 2) and one 1 bedroom Time Share (sleeps 4). Choose from resorts in the Dominican Republic, Lake Tahoe, Daytona or Lakeland, Fla. or Bandera, Texas.
