Rachel Whitener grew up on a farm in Southern Missouri, where she learned to appreciate home-grown products and the food traditions that carry through families. She received her degree in communications from Fontbonne University. She loves to cook and is fascinated by how much culture is influenced by food. She aspires to one day be a published author, or make enough money writing so that she can eat out three times a week.
