What do you want to change about yourself? Self improvement is something we all strive to achieve and it means something different to everyone. Do you want to lose weight? Get in better shape? Learn a new skill or trade? Complete some clutter clearing and clean out an attic, basemen, or entire house? Do you want to improve your communication with your spouse? Or take up a new hobby to help you alleviate stress in your life? Or perhaps you are recently divorced and are ready to move on?

Any of these things could help you to create a new life for yourself. Most likely they would make you happy.
One way to help you decide what you need to change is to visualize your life 10 years from now. Do you want it to be the way it is now? How do you want it to be different? Where would you love to be? If you would like to retire, then perhaps a financial planner can help you figure out what you need to do to get there. If you want to quit the job you have now, perhaps a book about discovering true interests are can help you figure out what you would like to do, or perhaps a career adviser can help. If you see yourself living in the Caribbean with a little side business, a little planning and research will help.
Next, you need to figure out what is holding you back. Is it that you just need to develop a plan and follow it? Or, are you stuck in the life you have now and unsure how to get out? After you determine what it is you should be doing (and sometimes this is the hardest part), a plan should start to fall into place. You may be able to develop the plan yourself, or you may need help. Share it with people…talk about it. Keeping to that plan can be difficult, but depending on how motivated you are, you can do it. Remember that feeling you had after you completed something you thought was impossible? You felt like you could do anything, well with the right amount of motivation…you can.
There are some resources below (many are free) that can help you determine what you want to change and where you should be. Maybe, where you are now is ok. I’m guessing…it isn’t.
