Sesame Street is celebrating its 40 anniversary. Characters like Big Bird, Oscar, Snuffy, and Elmo have been teaching young children how to read, count, and sing; while shows include a variety of subjects like being nice, nutrition, and helping others. The show has been a socializing staple for young children who learn how to interact with others. The series premiered on November 10, 1969.

Michelle Obama is a big supporter of Sesame Street and she is appearing in the 40th anniversary episode. Google has also marked the anniversary with a special google logo that includes Big Bird.

Sesame Street is a great show for children, and it is amazing how they have changed over the years to make allowances for changes in our world and environment. The Sesame Street website includes a variety of activities for children and adults alike, and includes sing alongs and videos for children. Sesame Street airs on the PBS channel across the nation.
