Blackened fish... try it, it's GOOD!

One easy way to speed up your metabolism is to eat spicy foods.  Capaisan, the known ingredient that is the "heat" in chile peppers, is also a key ingredient in increasing your metabolism and turning up the heat in your body.  So eat some extra cayenne during the winter, it will keep you warmer.

Cayenne is in the chile pepper family and it rates in the upper lever of the Scoville units.  Cayenne pepper is a popular dried spice and will help increase your metabolism.  Keep a Cajun type seasoning around for your daily use or use my recipe, which is the feature recipe today.  Consuming spicy foods combined with aerobic type exercises, will surely get you into that "summertime" look or at least keep your body fit.

Today's recipe is actually called "MJM's Everyday Seasoning", because it is used in place of just Salt and Pepper.  It is great in your scrambled eggs, on vegetables, on meats, chicken, seafood... it can be used in marinades and in rubs.  The list is endless, that is why it is an "Everyday Seasoning".

Be careful when working with hot sauces and / or hot peppers.  Wear gloves if possible and remove them before doing anything else.  Wash your hands no matter what.  Be careful not to touch your eyes, nose or other "sensitive" parts of your body, if you know what I mean, Vern!  Even though this spice cannot do any real physical harm, it will be quite uncomfortable for a while.  For your tongue, something cold, sweet and with vanilla or chocolate, will soothe the pain quickly.  Another words go get some vanilla or chocolate ice cream and you will be feeling "cool", real soon!

Here is the recipe for your own ...

"MJM Everyday Seasoning"

Equal parts of:

Black pepper
Cayenne pepper
White pepper
Paprika (get a nice smoked paprika)
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Italian herb blend (thyme, oregano, basil, rosemary, Marjoram)
Salt (Kosher, preferably)

Blend together in a coffee mill (used just for spices) or your food processor.  Store in recycled spice containers or little baggies or tupperware containers.

Experiment... next time you make some eggs... sprinkle some on.  Blacken some meats or fish with this mix.  Spice up your salads, veggies and soups.  Have fun... you will be the "Spice of the party".  It is "Spice-adelic"... Spice up your life with this recipe, I guarontee that you will never taste food the same way again!

You know life is really similar... once you taste the "good life", what ever YOU conceive that to be, you never want to go back the the old YOU... so DON"T!  Fix your sights on where you want to be, taste the "good life" and never look back!  YOU deserve everything that you dream of... and MORE!  Peace 2 U, my friends!  Happy Summers Day!
