Twilight went dancing Wednesday night.  Fox network's television show, So You Think You Can Dance, featured a dance on its July 1 episode performed to music from the film, Twilight, based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer.

Sonya Tayeh choreographed a contemporary routine for dancers Kupono Aweau and Kayla Radomski.  The couple, who are contestants on the televised dance contest, performed to the song, "Eyes on Fire" by the Danish electronic music group, Blue Foundation.  The song is Track #9 on the soundtrack.

In the film, the song appears in the scene where all the Cullen students but Edward arrive in the parking lot at Forks High School the day after Edward runs out on Bella in Biology class.

About the dance, Ms. Tayeh said, "We are doing some dark, dark stuff."  Mr. Aweau described the routine as "vampiresque."  Ms. Radomski explained, "I'm pulling away from death, and Kupono's trying to pull me towards it."

The routine was a hit with the program's judges, one of whom, Nigel Lythgoe, acknowledged its Twilight influence.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the second film in the series starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, is scheduled to be released November 20, 2009.  Filming for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third installment of the 4-part series, begins in August.
