The Scream Awards featured Twilight, Watchmen, Harry Potter, and Johnny Depp last night at Spike TV's annual awards ceremony honoring the best in fantasy, sci-fi, comics, and horror movies and TV shows.
Nominations are listed online where fans of these genres vote for their favorites. In the past, awards (in the shape of a spike, of course) have been given out to Books on Film works such as Batman Begins in 2006 for "Ultimate Scream" (kind of like Best in Show) and stars such as Ralph Fiennes in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2007 for the "Most Vile Villain."
This year's awards show taped from the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and will air on Spike TV Tuesday, October 27 at 10 p.m. ET.
(Spoilers below)
Those in attendance this year included Johnny Depp, Taylor Lautner, Keith Richards, and Quentin Tarantino. Richards won a special "Rock Immortal Award" presented to him by Depp.
A few of the Books (or comic books) on Film winners this year include: Twilight, for Best Fantasy; Taylor Lautner for Best Breakout Performance-Male (Twilight); Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart for Best Fantasy Actor and Actress (Twilight); Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for Best Sequel; Watchmen for Best Comic Book Movie; and Johnny Depp accepting for Alice in Wonderland as the Most Anticipated Fantasy Movie.
