This is a good recipe for kids. It's mild, but it still has enough flavor to please adult palates as well.

1 can black  beans, undrained (or about one cup dried beans soaked and cooked)
1 1/4 cup frozen corn
1/2 cup salsa
1/2 cup water
2 tsp lime juice
1/2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream

In medium saucepan, combine beans, corn, salsa, water, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, and salt and pepper. Cover, and bring to boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, and let simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes or until very hot. Serve topped with cheese and sour cream.
