Your party guests are going to need to blow off some of their Holiday Steam, especially if you are having your party on Halloween Day, when the kids are so excited for all the FREE CANDY they can hardly hold still. Here are some fun party games that will keep your partiers busy while you prepare their refreshments and whatever other activities you have planned.

Eyeball Relay

Ping pong balls (The cheap kind)
Plastic spoons

Decorate two or three white ping pong balls before your party to look like eyeballs (You'll want to make sure you use markers that won't rub off on hands or clothes). Have the children stand in two rows and hand them each a spoon. The race is passing the ball from spoon to spoon to see which team can reach the end first. Play it a few times, and do the best out of three (or seven, or however many times you can keep their attention)

"I'm a witch on a broomstick..."
This is a variation of "I'm going on a picnic". Each child adds something that they will take on the broomstick, and they have to remember each item that was listed before. You could also do a variation and instead of saying what you'll take on your broomstick, name a place that you'll be going on a broomstick. This is a good game for winding down, after they've gotten all excited with the wilder games.

Some old standby games you might want to try:

Pin the nose...
Pin the nose on the jack o'lantern, pin the stem on the apple, pin the hat on the scarecrow, etc.

Bobbing for apples

Doughnuts on a string
Hang doughnuts on a string and race to see who can eat theirs off the string first.

Cake Walk
Lay numbers out on the ground and play music (like musical chairs). When the music stop, choose a number or two, and the winners get a cupcake.
