
You can savor a winning meal from Top Chef
If you are a "Top Chef" fan like I am, then chances are you’ve seen a dish or two that you would love to sink your teeth into? Now anyone can savor the tasty creations from "Top Chef" without having to labor over a stove. "Top Chef" has partnered with Schwan’s, the home delivery service to bring its viewers the show’s popular winning dishes. Schwan’s has taken the effort out of cooking “Top Chef” meals. Fans can order frozen meals from “Top Chef” seasons 1, 2, 3 and 6.
From the Schwan’s website, you can order up meals featured on the Bravo’s reality competition. The chef creations include those from the current season, Atlanta chef Kevin Gillespie, CJ and Tre from season 3, Elia and “Frank The Bull” from season 2 and Lee Anne Wong from season 1.
According to a statement from Schwan’s director of innovation, viewers of culinary shows like Top Chef “have never been able to eat, taste or order what was being made.” Schwan’s Home Service, delivers within the 48 contiguous United States. Schwan’s line of “Top Chef” frozen foods is available through their website www.schwans.com or by calling 1-888-SCHWANS.
The meals
From season 1, Lee Anne Wong’s re-imagination of a classic Indian cuisine, chicken in red curry sauce. It is a chicken breast; snow peas and baby carrots are simmered in a rich red curry sauce and served on a bed of fragrant jasmine rice.
On season 2, Elia Aboumrad served up a tasty soup on the Thanksgiving episode. Elia created a portobello and button mushroom crème soup with walnuts which helped her win the elimination challenge. The soup has chunks of portobello mushrooms and button mushrooms with a touch of real cream. It’s a great soup to serve up on a cold winter day.
Frank Terzoli also from season 2 has cooked up a tasty pizza that is sure to have you wanting more. His creation is a prosciutto and cheese pizza. It’s made on a whole-wheat crust, topped with a garlic pesto sauce, mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes and thin slices of prosciutto.
On season 3 Chris "C.J." Jacobsen and Tre Wilcox teamed up to win their elimination challenge. The meal they cooked; roasted mushroom and parmesan linguini with grilled chicken. Linguini and grilled chicken tossed in a white wine and black truffle sauce with cherry tomatoes, spinach, and roasted portobellos. It’s topped with grated parmesan cheese.
From season 6, Atlanta chef Kevin Gillespie is considered by many to be one of the top 3 contenders. His dish of polenta with braised meatballs helped him win the TV Guide Quickfire Challenge. The dish is a reinterpretation of a classic TV dinner inspired by Sopranos TV series. The meal consists of soft and creamy polenta with braised meatballs, topped with a tomato basil sauce and a side of roasted cauliflower.
