You’ve seen the promos for ABC’s re-imagination of the 80’s sci-fi series. The time has arrived, “V” premieres tonight. ABC in what has become a crisis of originality in Hollywood has decided to resurrect the series that once starred the Marc Singer before he was “The Beastmaster”. “V” first premiered on NBC in 1983 as a three part mini-series. That mini-series was followed by the series in 1984 that lasted for just one season.

Tonight in the series pilot episode, the Visitors arrive on earth and everything changes. The say they come in peace and offer hope for a better future. But FBI agent Erica Evans accidentally uncovers a secret that the Visitors don’t want their new friends to find out about. As Evans continues to dig into this growing conspiracy, there are others that have doubts about the Visitors intentions.

In the original series the Visitors were led by a Supreme Commander named John. His second in command was the evil and diabolical Diana. The new series combines those characters to create Anna, the leader of the Visitors. Anna is attractive, intelligent, fierce and manipulative. She is cold blooded and rules over the Visitors with “an iron fist.”

“V” stars Elizabeth Mitchell (“Lost”) as Erica Evans, Scott Wolf (“The Nine”) as Chad Decker, Joel Gretsch (The 4400) as Father Jack and Morena Baccarin (Stargate SG-1) as Anna. ABC’s re-imagination of “V” premieres tonight at 8 p.m. on WSB-TV. Check your local listings for specific channel information.
