Hill Harper in Atlanta for breakfast with V-103

Relationship author and star of CBS’s hit series “CSI: NYHill Harper was in Atlanta this morning for breakfast. CBS radio station V-103 and its “Frank and Wanda Morning Show” hosted a breakfast with Hill Harper to discuss his book The Conversation: How Black Men and Women Can Build Loving, Trusting Relationships. Radio hosts Frank Ski and Wanda Smith along with relationship expert and psychologist Dr. Alduan Tartt discussed some of the issues addressed in Harper’s book.

“Having fewer honest conversations with close friends and more with your partner is an important step” says Hill Harper. Harper’s book addresses relationship issues of black men and women. Harper also answered questions from radio listeners that attended the breakfast at Justin’s Restaurant in Atlanta’s Buckhead. Harper discussed his views on why some men aren’t interested in committing to a partner. Harper is a long time friend of Barack and Michelle Obama. He uses the first couple as an example of a strong loving couple. Harper talked about how Michelle Obama was the breadwinner in the beginning of their marriage as Barack Obama was unemployed. The conversation turned to how couples can thrive by having honest communication.

A listener asked Harper if Men and Women could have platonic relationships. Harper replied “Absolutely”. “Gabrielle Union is my best friend” Harper said. He goes on to say, that people see them together and assume that they are dating. Harper says, “She’s been through a lot and I’ve been through a lot. We have supported each other through it.” Harper says that it’s ok for your partner to have friends of the opposite sex. That’s where your trust in your significant other comes into play. I had the opportunity to ask Hill Harper, where can we find good examples of healthy couples? More often we look up to celebrities and tend to be disappointed by them. Harper says “Examples are everywhere. Go to events like wine tastings or things you enjoy doing and you will see couples engaging in healthy interaction.”

Harper Hill’s book The Conversation: How Black Men and Women Can Build Loving, Trusting Relationships is available at bookstores everywhere. You can see Hill Harper on Wednesdays as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes in “CSI: NY” at 10 p.m. on CBS, WGCL-TV in Atlanta. Highlights of the “Frank and Wanda Show” air weeknights at 10 p.m. on The CW69. Cool culinary concert in Cobb

Atlanta has held its share of concerts, from Madonna and the Backstreet Boys to the Jackson 5 and Aerosmith. Celebrity chef, restaurateur, author and Food Network host Guy Fieri is coming to the Cobb Energy Center for a sensory experience unlike any concert. The Guy Fieri Road Show rolls into town, with a culinary experience that’s sure to make your mouth water and if you opt for one of the ticket packages, your pallet could really savor the experience.

Guy Fieri is the guy from the Friday’s commercials with the blonde spiked hair. He is also the host of three Food Network shows, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”, “Guy's Big Bite" and “Guy Off the Hook”. Guy Fieri’s Road Show is a concert for the senses, as he serves up some appetizing dishes. You can even sample some of the tasty creations if you purchase one of the two VIP packages. The “OFF Da Hook” and “Kulinary Krew” ticket packages put you up on the stage with Guy Fieri as he performs, its the culinary equivalent of being on stage with Bono. Fieri’s says on his website the Road Show is “food, rock n' roll, and everything they won't let me do on TV!”

So what can you expect, rock n’roll is a definite bet, a spectacular performance that makes Benihana hibachi chefs look like kids backyard theater. Guy Feiri also has an opening act, Australian mixologist Hayden Wood warms the audience up with a high energy performance. You’ll wish all bartenders posses these pouring skills.

Guy Fieri throws down at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center November 23. If you have relatives in town for the week, this would be a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Tickets to the Guy Fieri Road Show are still available at Ticketmaster. Regular ticket prices start at $23.
