City of Beaverton's Tree Lighting, takes place Fri., Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m., at Beaverton Library and City Park. The evening includes holiday crafts, a musical performance by Radio Disney and a singalong with Mayor Denny Doyle and Santa. Reserve seats for the Beaverton Civic Theatre presentation of "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" for only $5 and a new toy for TVF&R Toy & Joy drive.

Choose your own adventure for Saturday, Dec. 5, with three local events, for your shopping or holiday pleasure.

Mary Woodward School PSO's Annual Holiday Craft Bazaar & Gift Shop, 12325 SW Katherine St., Tigard, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bazaar features over 40 local crafters and vendors, along with students, selling jewelry, hand knitted items, soap, wreaths and more. There will be a free hands on craft area, free 4X6 photos with Santa and refreshments.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Tualatin United Methodist Women will transform their Fellowship Hall,  20200 SW Martinazzi Ave., Tualatin, into a boutique gift show, full of handcrafted items. A bake sale will feature soup, cornbread and pie. All profits go to mission projects such as Washington County Domestic Violence Resource Center, Tualatin Food Pantry, United Methodist Women's Mission Projects and Agape mission work in Russia. St. Nicholas will be on site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children to visit, so BYOC (bring your own camera) to capture the moment.

Friends Used Book Sale will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.(Special Friends preview sale at 9 a.m.) at Haggen Food & Pharmacy, 8515 SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road, Tualatin. Hundreds of used hardback and paperback books will be available in a variety of popular genres. All proceeds benefit the Tualatin Public Library.
