Mary Washington Hospital offers a wide variety of classes for the mother to be. One of the classes they offer is childbirth preparation. They have highly qualified nurses that walk the expecting parents through the birthing journey.
The class starts at 7pm and ends by 9pm. The class is very well structured. It gives a full understanding of what to expect before, during and after your baby is born.
The class teaches the birth partner how to make mom to be, more comfortable during the birthing process, what the signs of labor are, how the baby makes its way through the birth canal, changes that your body will go through and all the different mediciations available. There is a booklet on everything related to child birth which is yours to keep. The booklet makes for a great reference guide. Also, there is a list of emergency numbers provided. The instructors are always willing to answer any personal questions that might come up, either before or after class.
The course is often instructed with a power point presentation. However, there are many videos to see, keeping the class fun and interactive. This class is wonderful for all mothers to be, especially fist timers. It will put your mind at ease, knowing that you are well informed of what will happen before, during and after labor. The nursing staff is very well equipped and will do every thing they can to make your experience a memorable one.
