MJ's Big Blog comes through, once again, for some great David Cook scoop and music. Before a recent concert performance in Phoenix, AZ, David stopped by the Mix 96.9 studios and played an acoustic set for some lucky in-studio fans. MJ's Blog features the videos for his unplugged versions of "Mr. Sensitive," "Lie," and "Heroes". While I love them all, I am featuring my fave of the three below, "Lie". As noted in my column last week, David will be performing this song at Carrie Underwood's upcoming holiday special, along with a duet of Van Halen's "Why Can't This Be Love". "Lie" is reportedly Carrie's favorite David Cook song.
There is also a Q & A video on MJ's Big Blog if you'd like to check that out as well. It's not the complete session, but David does touch on a bit of controversy he hit in his "Pork Beans" video segment on his web site. There was an interview with David and a rubber chicken and, as David said, it was obviously meant to be a joke, as well as to point out the "stupid absurdity that is our lives." However, because he pokes fun at some of the questions asked of him during media interviews, David received some heat for having become "jaded."
As someone who has a phone interview scheduled with him next week, it makes me a bit apprehensive as far as what to ask the guy. The nice thing is that he is obviously extremely intelligent, so superficial questions are probably a bit of a bore to him.
