Are you one of those people who collects clippings or memorabilia of your favorite celebrities?  Whether it be President Obama, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, KISS, Motley Crue, Kings of Leon, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Usher or someone else; if you collect press clippings, publicity photos, autographs, or have saved that headline from the newspaper, why not create a scrapbook of the information and preserve that piece of history in a book along with your other items.

First of all, make sure that you preserve the items in such a way that you can enjoy it, but also in a way that won't damage it's value.   Specifically autographs, autographed pictures, magazine covers and certain newspaper headlines could actually be worth something if they are preserved correctly.  Especially if you can include a picture of you receiving the autograph with the actual autograph.  That will help authenticate the item, if later you decide to sell it.

You can include picture or campaign buttons, bumper stickers, concert programs, concert/show tickets, pictures of you in your concert t-shirt, pictures of you with your favorite celebrity can all make for a fun scrapbook album.    Don't forget to include your own thoughts on the page though.  How did you feel about what happened?  Did it shock you?  What do you remember about that person?  Why do you collect the memorabilia?  Were they your favorite growing up?  What do you have in common with this person or group?

Where can you find the information about your celebrities?  Just look around you at the grocery store on the magazine racks, newspapers and look online.  You can find all types of information about celebrities and create your own keepsake album.  Do you have a favorite movie or television show?  Check out ebay and see if you can get a copy of the press kit that was given out when it was released.  Maybe you have a favorite author or celebrity, if you do check out their facebook or myspace page.  They might even have their own official web page and fan club.    Some authors will even send you free promotion items for their books if you send them a self addressed stamped envelope.  You can also get signed books or book covers from many of their personal web sites.  Did you favorite author come to town and have a book signing?  Take pictures, and place the picture and the autograph in your scrapbook.   The best place to go for the most accurate information is the celebrities websites, but if you like to collect the dirt of your favorites, you can easily find articles on the gossip magazines' websites including People, US Magazine and The Smoking Gun.

The important thing is to create something that you will treasure.  Keep in mind that you don't have to go overboard on the cost of the embellishments.  Keeping it simple will allow you to get more on the page.  Also, be careful not to crop items and dimish their value.  Publicity pictures, programs, headlines and autographs are best kept as pristine as possible.

Scrapbooking your special items can make for great fun and also give you a place to store all those items safely.
