The rumor is spreading around the Internet pretty fast that Floyd Landis will leave team OUCH next season to join the Team Second Chance, otherwise known as Rock Racing.
Neil Browne, former editor of Road, is arguably the most active cycling journalist in the Twitter Nation. He's reporting Landis and veteran rider Anthony Cruz, both former Lance Armstrong teammates in their respective career laundry lists of teams, will join the team owned by controversial jeans mogul Michael Ball.
Browne is also reporting Ivan Dominguez, Victor Hugo Pena, Fred Rodriguez and Oscar Sevilla will all return to the squad in 2010. No mention yet of Francisco Mancebo, who had a stellar 2009 season for Rock Racing.
Landis, the dethroned 2006 Tour de France winner, returned to the pro peloton in 2009 with the Team OUCH, the squad sponsored by the Orthopedic outfit that resurfaced the cyclist's hip.
Landis had an impressive return to the sport in February at the Tour of California. But his comeback season subsequently waned. He had few top-10 and no podium finishes — at least via readily available cycling result resources.
