Proving Why Women Should Not Adhere to the New Mammogram Guidelines Issued.
According to The National Cancer Institute, 192,370 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and 40,170 deaths from breast cancer were reported in the United States in 2009. These numbers are still rising. In an announcement by the U.S. Protective Task Force Services, women are now being told to stop self-examining and to forgo mammogram screenings until the age of 50.
The celebrity women listed here may very well be among the death totals if this announcement had been released before they decided to self exam or get a mammogram at the previously recommended age of 40.
