Netbooks are here to stay. Though our economy is making consumers more aware of spending habits, technology continues to progress. We can’t afford to be left behind- and we won’t with netbooks.

Netbooks are portable laptops that often cost less than $400, some as low as $299. Nine inch screens are the standard, but for more money you can upgrade screen size, processor type and speed, hard drive size and more. Check out your local Circuit City for great deals, now that this chain is closing its doors.

Before you add more bells and whistles to your anticipated netbook purchase, make sure to check out prices for standard laptops. You may be pleasantly surprised that the money you are going to spend on a netbook may buy you a low-end laptop, with just as many features- and a much larger screen.
