If you are a new parent that is just warming up to the playground scene, meeting other moms can seem daunting. But if you have developed a connection with someone special, and are looking for spots outside of your home or the playground to meet, the city has great neighborhood spots-that cater to kids needs while still being fun for moms (or dads as the case may be). Here is the beginning of a sample of fun ideas with San Francisco's neighborhoods.

The Mission District

Meet at Natural Resources or a Mom & Baby Yoga class on Valencia, afterward grab lunch at the bustling Bugaloos. If it's a hot day, take a dip in the Mission Pool , which has a playground too.

Haight-Ashbury

Join in on the the storytimes every Thursday morning at the Page Street library, stroll over to Haight Street for an early lunch at Squat & Gobble, which is always kid-friendly and end the date with a ride on the carousel in GG park.

The Richmond

Meet at Green Apple Books  to find a new book for both you and your babe. Stroll over to the wonderfully wacky, Toy boat Cafe for a latte and light lunch.

Bernal Heights

Saturday is the time to meet and shimmy to the sounds of kid fave, Enzo Garcia  at the Bernal Heights Community Center. Later, peruse the racks at Chloe's Closet   for gently used kid's clothes-and end the date with a banana split at Maggie Muds.

The Marina

Crissy Field, on a windless day, can be a great place to spread out a picnic blanket and snack on sandwiches from the Warming Hut. On rainy days, the  Sports Basement often hosts storytimes and lapsits.
